ABC Texas Gulf Coast Chair Mark Monical, Director Buck Blevins and Terry McAlister,  President & CEO were on Capitol Hill last week as ABC members from across the nation gathered in Washington, D.C. for ABCs Legislative Week.

Legislative Week is an opportunity for ABC members to hear from top administration and congressional leaders on the issues that impact the construction industry on the federal and state levels. Attendees heard inspiring calls to action from merit shop advocates and an overview of ABC’s legislative priorities for the year ahead. ABC members from across the nation gathered on Capitol Hill to garner support for issues critical to ABC members. Other events during the week included the 2019 Legislative Day breakfast featuring VIP speakers (Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-TX and Sen. Rick Scott, R-FL), and the opportunity to network with peers and members of Congress on Capitol Hill to give representatives a firsthand understanding of how legislation affects the construction industry.

ABC PAC

ABC PAC works within the federal election process to further the goals of the association through direct involvement in supporting and opposing candidates for the Office of President, United States Senate and United States House of Representatives. This is accomplished through educating our members on the importance of political activism and through financial support of merit shop candidates.  ABC PAC is governed by fifteen board members appointed by the ABC National Chairman. The board members serve a three year term and represent each of the seven regions. The ABC PAC Board of Trustees work with the Regional Vice Chairs and chapter leadership to promote political involvement and assist in raising PAC funds. Trustees approve all disbursements to candidates based on well-established guidelines such as voting records of incumbents.
